Dear Ethnic Studies MA Students,
I hope you all are doing well and in good health-physically, emotionally, and mentally. The move to online instruction and the Shelter In Place order have been big transitions for us all.
For those of you working on your thesis, your committee members are aware that your research methods may have changed due to the Shelter In Place order. The Division of Graduate Studies has also shifted the method in which you will be submitting your thesis (more info below).
For those of you enrolled in classes, your instructors are making adjustments to ensure that learning opportunities continue even though we're not coming together on campus.
Thank you for your patience during this time as we all shift into new modes of interacting with one another. I've asked your instructors/thesis committee members to keep in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic also brings with it new responsibilities and stressors that may not have previously been a part of our day-to-day lives. Together we will create a stable learning and research environment that is rooted in compassion.
Below are links to some resources that may be useful for you, your friends, family members, and neighbors.
I hope you're staying healthy, taking good care of yourselves and your loved ones, and navigating this time with care and as much calm as possible.
Sincerely and in community,
Prof. Katynka Martinez
